Lost Church

St Piran’s Oratory is believed to have been founded in the 6th Century. It was ‘lost’ until discovered in late 18 th century, dug up, then encased in concrete in 1910, unconconcreted in 1980 and covered in sand. It was uncovered again in 2014. It floods every winter so quite how it was of practical purpose is beyond me but I suspect mining in the area has altered water courses such that it now floods. I have been unable to contact anyone from the 6 th Century to confirm this. Perhaps we need Bill and Ted (movie joke) !
