The power of team spirit

Today we did the Greenwich Meridian 10k run. It was very well organised by Cambridge Harriers. They arranged a cold morning, but with sunshine.

Until Wednesday we thought we were well prepared, as we had been practicing running two hills in the park. Unfortunately, it was the wrong two hills. The course had been changed, due to the roadworks. We had a steeper hill and we had to run up it three times!

However, we rose to the challenge.

Mavis, Jane, Sally, Mr & Mrs Soup, Hopi, Sean, Vernon were the in-form Greenwich parkrunners running in the event. We were cheered-on by Wole, Les, Susan and Phil, who were event marshals. Also providing support were: Annabelle, Ed, Richard and team mentor Linda.

We were pleased with times and all the runners got a tasteful medal.

A big thanks to Annabelle and Ed for the post run hospitality in their house nearby - as seen in this photo. Janet also popped-in to provide encouragement and suggestions for future events.
