…..………………..up the Estuary



This view of the Waimea estuary was taken from the Mapua wharf, a small seaside settlement between Nelson and Motueka, NZ.

Mapua is a very popular destination, particularly on a weekend for relaxed dining, a coffee, an ice cream, a craft beer at the boutique brewery, browsing the small shops or perhaps a spot of fishing and for the younger generation, jumping from the wharf into the fast flowing channel.

You might remember the sculpture I blipped four days ago at the gateway of the Ruby Coast - well, this is part of that scenic route.

Maple leaves, looking a little tatty, but glowing in the late afternoon sunlight, caught my eye at Riverside Community where we buy our raw milk.
