Lockdown #3 - day sixty-one..

Shadwell Woods near Ashdon.

We've had a pretty quiet Sunday, this afternoon we went over to Ashwell, just over the border in Essex to have a walk in Shadwell Wood. It was well worth the visit. This little piece of ancient woodland is looked after by the Essex Wildlife Trust and is a real gem. We had a great visit ever though the path were a bit soggy in places. Another place to visit in the spring to see the ancient woodland flowers...

The photo is of an ancient ash stump still sprouting poles even though it's hollow and rotten.
