Sunny Sunday

Myself and Mr D went for a drive ( not really essential but we didn't see anyone, well not living anyway) he is a volunteer for the commonwealth war graves and has allotted cemeteries to check and photograph. These are war graves that are not in the big military cemeteries, because the family have either paid for the body of their loved one to be returned or the person has died here in GB and again the family have paid for the return of the person. The CWGC maintain and replace any stones in these cemeteries and have people like myhubby keep an eye and report back on them. The cemetery we went to was close to a the place were my ancestors come from so we went hunting for them. We found great uncles and my great great grandparents along with a number of other cousins etc. Couldn't find one great aunt that I do remember ( I never met any of the others) but no joy. The Cemetery was very uneven and has a lot of ground movement so stones were down so she may have been one of them. We will have to do some research! Anyway the picture was of some amazing fungi on some tree stumps, they were beautiful and looked almost like wood with their rings.
