Blue for you

There's something really nice about sun at this time of the year (spring in the UK). It's not just that you feel grateful for any sunshine at all. More that the warmth is somehow unexpected against the remaining slight chill in the air, particularly so in the morning, and therefore feels all the better for it. I have a particularly strong memory of being about 12 years old and sitting next to Llyn Padarn in North Wales with my friend Pete during the easter holidays (we always went to North Wales on our school holidays) with our backs against a warm slate slab, just lapping up the warmth.

Anyway... I digress. This morning I rode over to Saltford on the Bath/Bristol cycle path and sat next to the weir, watching the swans and the rowers for about 30 minutes. It was gorgeous.

This shot is from a little further along the river (on the Bath side), almost opposite what I assume is Saltford Rowing Club, looking away from Bath towards the weir.

Fantastic day.
