Sparkling Lights

Strong afternoon light bounces blindingly off the lake ice making it difficult to take any shots in that direction. But here I found I could use side light to catch the out of focus reeds creating wonderful blurry highlights.


I was shooting through a gap in the trees which shaded me from the direct light. There is not much actually in focus, but what there is serves a purpose in framing the more interesting light show beyond. The rich colours and variations in tone are lovely.
