Chop chop

The wood has been sitting patiently. I decided to split it for burning - field maple, willow, acacia and downy oak.

I remember someone telling me downy oak was useless for fence posts. See the woodworm in extra and rot is a real issue.

It felt like winter returned today- cold air and sullen northeast wind, low cloud, grey gunmetal light.

All the young kids at the nursery school and teachers tested negative.
