Wixford

Martyn came round this morning to replace our cooker hood which had given up the ghost.  Luckily I was able to buy a replacement of the same'ish model so he had no trouble fixing it up.  It's a while since Martyn has been here, remodelling the inside of the house after we bought it, he has managed to keep working during the pandemic, mainly on outside jobs. A lot of people will miss him if he ever retires!

After lunch we took a short car ride out to Wixford.  We walked through the village and out to the local church of St. Milburga of Wenlock.  An interesting place to visit, there is a yew tree dated from 1765 or 1660 depending on whose story you believe, plus a Grade II listed horsehouse of hurdle and gorse with a thatched roof dated from the 18th century.  This was for the use of visiting clergy.

The village has two pubs, The Three Horseshoes, and The Fish Inn which stands next to the River Arrow.   Opposite there is a public right of way over a stile which we explored.....they say all things come in threes, well along there we came across yet another waterfall,  who'd have believed we had so many?

I couldn't decide which picture to use, so here's a little collection.
