Our village is blessed with three pubs in the high Street. Managing to manage in the hospitality industry today must be a daily challenge and I do feel for those involved.

Despite being a non-regular to any pubs nowadays (my drinking days are long gone) I do make occasional forays into maybe one perhaps two a month for food. Luckily, to my and the village undeniable benefit, the decline of social drinking over the past 20 years has led to many UK pubs now serving truly excellent fare in order to attract a newer species of masterchef viewer.
