Nesting Time

The morning was taken up with a first aid for mental health course. Girlguiding is a little behind with this, as I firmly believe that all Leaders should should be receiving some training but it’s not on offer within the Association yet. Anyway, I chose to do a course independently because I find young people and adults often open up and talk about their problems whilst away from home on the walking events and camps that I’m involved in. It goes without saying that I’d like to be better equipped to help them. I found the role play scenarios today difficult but helpful.

Fresh air was needed in the afternoon, so a stroll along the canal combined with a Sainsbury’s trip. This swan nested in the exact same place last year, just behind some railings but with a constant stream of people walking by. There are plenty of quieter spots along the river and canal!

A lovely evening to finish the day - Peter cooked duck breasts for just the two of us as Lauren was busy doing her own thing.

Philosophy Friday
The story of becoming beautiful isn’t about the ugly duckling becoming a swan; it is about the ugly duckling realising it was a swan all along. - Leta Greene
