Step 1 Day 6: High Tide

Today a police officer appeared at a magistrates court charged with kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard. Later in the day there was a peaceful vigil (attended by the Duchess of Cambridge) to remember her, then as darkness fell, police moved in to grab and assault  the women. Truly shocking.

Caroline Nokes, the Tory chair of the women and equalities committee, said she was “truly shocked at the scenes from Clapham Common – in this country we police by consent, not by trampling the tributes and dragging women to the ground”.
