Memorial to The Sound man

The late Adrian Borland was local to New Malden - but that aside I can't think of a reason why his name has suddenly been daubed on the subway wall. It's not an anniversary of his birth, or of his untimely suicide (1957-1999); nor has the date of either just passed.

I'm suggesting that our local dauber has recently discovered, and fallen heavily for, The Sound. Great and under-rated post-punk outfit led by Borland. Perhaps he or she wants to approach me with a sizeable cash offer for my pristine copy of the debut album Jeopardy on Korova Records? I wonder if the local constabulary now has enough to go on to identify the culprit?
