Knife Edge, Henry Moore 1976

The sculpture is on loan from the Henry Moore Foundation to Welwyn Garden City.

HM was a Hertfordshire resident and when he visited WGC he was impressed with the layout of the town, with its large open spaces and ornamental symmetrical gardens. He felt they would lend themselves to sculpture very well.

I popped into WGC this afternoon to collect contact lenses, buy a few items in Boots and also the health food shop. I was distracted, bought other things, admired this sculpture and forgot the contact lenses! Fortunately I’m returning tomorrow anyway to volunteer at the Food Rescue Hub.
