Horsetail

When I was small, my mother gave me a straw bag and asked me to pick up horsetail to cook dish TSUKUDANI in Japanese. The horsetail was boiled down in soy sauce and became a dish to taste spring. When I was a small girl, I didn't like the taste of this food,  better, sweat and spicy. But after grown up, I want to taste this dish which reminds me of my old days.

When my children were very small,  I took them to the field to pick horsetail.   I think this was very unforgettable memories for my children. Every early spring, they say " we used to pick horsetail to cook dish" But in my memory it is only one time. Very funny story.
