Rocky road

The Ards Man surprised me by suggesting a morning walk to Island Hill. Surprising as it’s usually me who arranges walks.

He checked tide times first, as the walk to Island Hill is over a causeway that’s covered at high tide. Timing was good, so off we went with coffee and biscuits (no expense spared) in the backpack.

It was really lovely! And even felt warm out of the wind, although it was forecast to be just 12°C today. It’s not a very long walk but it was pleasant.

This afternoon we’re heading up to the AM’s mum’s house to celebrate her 93rd birthday. She still lives in her own home but with a lot of help. Unfortunately she is a tad doolally with marked dementia and we take meals up every day. She now has carers in four times a day too, but doesn’t remember that any of us have been in with her. Dementia really is a dreadful disease.
