Dominic Nahr

I've met two paparazzi from London a few months ago who introduced me to a photography club here in Hong Kong. They meet up once a month to share, showcase and introduce each other. They are mainly professionals who make a living with photography. Tonight's guest was Dominic Nahr, a Magnum photographer talking about his Somalia and Sudan projects, which took me back to the kids in inner-London schools.

I'm always curious about photographers' projects, ideas, inspiration and love to hear them talking about it. Dominic introduced us to war photography, the responsibility and risk he's taking to show the world what is going on there, the importance of pairing up with good writers, the balance between personal and client's project. He's a very special species of artists whose work environment is surrounded by constant danger, something that drives them along with good stories. A very inspirational talk supported by strong images.
