The House That Jack Built

In case you ever wondered it's a fine building, still standing and is to be found in the village of Lubenham, where we chose to take a walk today. The blue plaque extra explains more!

We went on to the tiny village of Laughton too. There are a number of mud walls in the Harborough district also still standing. Often of uncertain date (generally two or three hundred years old) and often made of layers of puddled dried mud and straw topped off with a protective 'roof'. In the extras are a couple of shots of wall remnants around the churchyard, in this instance covered in a 'wide brimmed' thatch.
