Scarifier

There’s a large area of grassland up the hill (a full 20m of ascent lol) to the north of our house, which was once a quarry and then landfill. It has tubes sticking out of it perhaps to let any gas escape and isn’t particularly attractive so we don’t often walk across it. Today however we only had a short time so wandered up there to let Reggie have a big run around.

We walked the perimeter and discovered a narrow trod that leads out towards Bramfield -
ah ha - that will be a short cut home for another day!

A little further along we found this old scarifier.

The Virtual Explorer Unit meeting went very well tonight. I ran a St Patrick’s themed scavenger hunt. Some of them actually spoke! Leading teenagers can be hard work at the best of times but via Zoom it’s very hard. One week to go and it’s over. Cant wait!
