A Slightly Better Day

Found this wonderful plant bursting forth from the verge - I believe it to be ‘Butterbur’… I have never seen / noticed it before and think it is rather splendid. A ‘Flower Friday’ candidate.

Our daughter was discharged from hospital last night....she has infective ulceration to both eyes, her sight is slowly returning now. We did get some interesting text messages as she tried to use Siri on her phone! She also has gallstones..completely unrelated, but magically happened at the same time as her eye ulcers! Regular eye drops should help to clear up the eyes, but surgery for gall stones is not being performed or scheduled for the foreseeable future, so she may be poorly for a while… the morphine has worn off and so she is in pain again…

It is her birthday next week and she is now on annual leave for the next week...so that is going to be spent self isolating up in the spare room! Fingers crossed that she avoided catching COVID-19 from the patient in the next hospitalbed.

In other news.. I passed the 300 mile mark on my virtual walk today… ’just passing’ the Westonbirt National Arboretum.

Added an extra (couldn’t resist) - ‘Mum…why is that man peering through the hedge at us?’
