On becoming a palletomane

This pallet was washed up on the beach and I was intrigued by the code stamped on it. Sorry it is upside down. The internet explained all. At the risk of sending you to sleep here are the main facts.
I P P C - The IPPC ( International Plant Protection Convention) exists to prevent and control the spread or introduction of pests of plants around the world. The logo is present because the pallet will be moving between countries and its purpose is to advise of the measures that have been taken. The two letters indicate the country it is from - in this case ZA is South Africa. There is also a regional code. HT indicates the pallet has been heat treated to eliminate parasites and insects. Fascinating.

Never use a pallet that has not been treated for craft projects. You could be risking your health. There are several web sites about pallet projects. You learn something every day.
