Something not missed

I used to teach. There was much I missed about it. But one thing I didn't miss was marking. Maybe that was when I found out was really learned by my learners. And sometimes I wondered.

But it was an activity that really ate into my time. Weekends with an intimidating pile of unmarked scripts. It had to be done - learners were waiting. A box in a register demanded a number to crunch and convert to a grade.

Ellen still has to mark but that's it done until the next time. the table can be used for dining again.
