Living Dangerously

MrRoly has spent the weekend building a scaffolding tower to check out some suspicious looking cracks that he fears have grown on the corner of the house. He’s spoken with a surveyor who advised fixing tell tales to the worst of the cracks. Not so easy to do when they are at the top of a fairly high house! The tower is probably 5m+ high and quite wobbly - tomorrow’s blip may be in the bag though!

Our amateur diagnosis is to do with window lintels - we replace the knackered wooden sash windows with replica PVC windows. Google suggests these are not nearly as strong and many older houses didn’t have window lintels as the timber frames were strong enough. Bugger is I think the correct terminology in this scenario although aresebuckets could also cover it.
