Breakdown Tails

Yesterday evening we received a text from Scottish Power Network advising they would have to cut our electricity supply to carry out emergency repairs for a period of 3 hours or so.

Fair enough! Friday night. OK.

Just before the shut off time I remembered that one of my Macs was churning through some hefty imaging calculations using a Visualisation app running on Windows.

I thought I should shut the whole process down before the power. Unfortunately the power cut out.

Next morning,  I restarted the Mac and I quickly diagnosed that some files would have to be restored.

Windows on a Mac is a file package of about 40Gb! Left to its own devices the Mac worked through the complete restore procedure and after most of Saturday everything was fully restored and working correctly.

No damage done and no information lost.

During Saturday Alan Heriot called in to deliver some sculpting tools for Pat together with one of his paintings he had asked us to store.

Today’s Blipfoto shows the Bellcote on our house, beneath a blue sky.

Each panel is about 1.8 metres tall. There is room enough inside to stand and the "ceiling" is a dome shape.
