A New Walk

A van was parked at the road end at "The New Walk", Craig Chonochair Wood. It looked like someone was already on their way up the track with a dog or two. We continued east a bit on the A86. The normally busy informal gravel parking at Rough Burn was empty. (Odd because every hill walking start point layby was heaving yesterday).
We walked the track as if heading for the big Munro Beinn a Chaorainn, (Hill of the Rowan I think) but continued after the walker's path departed on the gravel. This presented a few other options for future walks too.
I referred to BaC as the big Munro here because its neighbour to the west, Ben Teallach at 914m is one of the smallest.
Further on the track we got a glimpse of the famous Badenoch Wall rising on a snowy  shoulder crest and disappearing in to the cloud. I.m not sure where it terminates but it is a dramatic piece of drywall construction in a wild environment. The builders must have been tough as nails.
This picture has Binnein Shuas to the left and the trench to its right is the valley holding Lochan na h-Earba and beyond the big Ardverikie mountains
