Thank You ...

... again for all the lovely comments on my last couple of blips. Sorry I haven't had time to thank you individually, but we are very touched by your kindness and sympathy. You are a wonderful lot! I hope to catch up with your journals soon.

We have been to the care home today to collect the FIL's belongings. A strangely cold experience, no condolences expressed by anyone, not even a thank you for the TV which we decided they could keep.

In the afternoon we managed to get an estate agent to visit the house to give us a valuation for probate. He seemed to think it was much more valuable and saleable than our expectations. We need to get a couple of other valuations though just to be sure before we put it on the market.

We also looked in the loft. That was worse than our expectations. It was packed with cardboard boxes with goodness knows what contents. It's going to take a lot of time and effort to go through it all.

There are loads of ornaments everywhere in the house too, such as the small globe in my blip. Some of them must have a value, but how on earth (unintentional pun) do we identify which ones and realise that value.
