Quod oculus meus videt

This is what happens when you feed a horse a Polo mint from the car!  Georgi was L’s riding partner’s horse and was being brought in to tack up as we drove in to the yard.

Today is really a time of reflection.  Funnily enough I was doing the same thing this day last year, helping L at the stables.  I feel fortunate that we have been left relatively unscathed by the impact of the pandemic in employment, family and mental health terms.  In fact I have been working for the last 6 months, doing a bit towards tackling the pandemic, which has been very rewarding on a personal (and yes monetary) level.  I miss not being able to spend time with friends and family, holidays and visiting different parts of the country. I feel for all of those who have suffered loss as a result of the virus.

The thing is we still have a way to go.  There will be more bumps in the road and we still need to take care.  Here’s hoping that the next year will be so much better than the last.
