The morning after

We woke this morning and went straight to the phones to see what happened last night. And to our great delight there was little to report! A few hitches here and there with the connection and the transmission of results from a few areas but all in all, a very smooth day of voting.

And so after we determined that the final results wouldn't be announced until tonight, we could find no excuse to stay home...and off we went to work. I think our kids are still in shock that we couldn't stay home and play. And who could blame them after the fun we had yesterday.

The traffic on the roads made today look like a Sunday morning! I think most people are either at home or trickling in later today. Everyone was adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Well, we will have to wait a bit longer. I am not sure of productivity levels today but we have reported to duty.

But all of this allowed me to stop and snap this photo from underneath the newly constructed overpass. Surely our dear President Kibaki will be remembered for his development of our infrastructure. I pray the new guy will also focus on developing our economy allowing others to be removed from poverty into productivity.

The public transport vehicle which is pictured here is one of the only ones on the road today. We are not sure why so many 'matatu's' are staying off the road.

Last night it rained. First rain we have had in weeks and always a 'good sign of blessing'.
