We went to Fanjeaux again, in very different conditions from last time. It was 21C and windless. Despite the warmth, the air was very clear, so there were amazing views to the snowy Pyrenees from the edge of the village with its commanding position on the top of a hill. So we had a proper explore this time. Interesting to see the mixture of brick and stone in use, unusual in our area but I guess more common the nearer you get to Toulouse. There's another example here. Oh, and a rather splendid door. The Fanjeaux album is here.

On the way we stopped in Bram, where there was a quite extensive street market. It's more classy than Lézignan: street food from Persia, Africa and Vietnam, and a really impressive cheese stall where we couldn't help joining the queue and spending 25 euros. We also bought a couple of punnets of gariguette strawberries from Thuir ... it's not even April yet, so that would normally be a no-no, but they are ripe and delicious. Home for a late lunch ... wouldn't it be lovely to be able to have lunch out!
