beech leaves carpet

Went for a walk with the dog in Pollok Park this morning. It was a lovely, frosty morning and the patterns of light shining through the trees onto the carpet of beech leaves caught my eye. When I got home I thought I'd have a go at enhancing the photo to emphasise the slants of light. Playing around with the special effects options on Google+ this happened!
The photo now looks totally artificial, but I like the resulting pattern. What do you think?
