LD 367 Mud and rain

First day of the start of retirement (it being a gradual thing in politics) meant that I was on Radio Scotland by five past eight this morning,  and at my desk before nine. 

But I have also been able to potter a little outside, before the rain came, and see quite a lot of mud which is the  necessary side effect of the drainage work we are having done .   The field drains have not been renewed since we came here and the trees we had cut down last year have opened up spaces that now need drained if they are to be used at all.
