Dancing Magnolia

I drive past this lovely, very tall magnolia when I take D. to school. Today was gray and gloomy again, but a pleasant temperature, and the opening buds showed up like candles. It's a couple miles away at Clark's Gap where the old railway, before heading across the Loudoun Valley, went through a handy spot in the hills. Back in the trees there's an old log house with a newer 19th century wing that's painted yellow. NVCT=Northern Virginia Conservation Trust.

Lots of driving today and an enjoyable evening hour of mucky weeding.
