Wandering

Busy morning with big induction event (luckily went smoothly despite persistent loud doorbell buzzing in the middle of my presentation!) and rush of other meetings. One was the last of our ART pandemic meetings that had started daily a year ago.... pleased to see the end of them, if nothing else because it’s part of the signalling that we’re moving beyond that intense emergency planning period. Several meetings this week have had a real ‘turning the corner’ feel....thank goodness! Also a boost to get a phone call from my hairdresser...have an appointment in 3 weeks...yay!
Later in the afternoon I had a meeting with CB but we’d decided to meet in person on a bench in the Meadows. By the time we met though the changeable weather was quite blustery with spitting rain so we decided to walk and talk instead of sitting....we should do it more often! Wandered around various streets in Marchmont to keep out of the wind and covered a lot of stuff in our catch up. So lovely to talk to a 3D person! We also bumped into NM collecting her kids from school and SB walking home so it turned into a very sociable hour!
On the way home glimpsed these tulips....first ones I’ve seen.
Home and had a long chat to T about P, gardening jobs he’s doing, TV programmes we’re watching and recipes. He was telling me about a quote he’d done for a house and we both looked it up on street view whilst we talked so he could describe the location...MK continues to have new estates built all the time and I didn’t even know that one existed when he first mentioned it. So looking forward to going down in 6 weeks’ time to see them all.
Later, very surprised to get a call from P but nice to chat to him and he seemed to be able to hear me ok. Sounds like he’s feeling a lot better.
Moved to the final series of Chicago Med and found it very off putting that it was Covid focussed. I’m watching nonsense like this to escape, not to have yet another pandemic focussed part of my day!
