Social Distancing and Sports

Here we have a fine example of the adjustments made in respect to our current global situation.  This arena is at 10 percent capacity.

Tonight we saw our severely injured (new) hometown Milwaukee Bucks lose to the New York Knicks, another playoff-bound team. Of the 12 players on the roster, four Bucks were unable to play due to various injuries. When you're outgunned 12 players to eight, victory is always a long shot.

Nevertheless, the Forum was a great way to spend the evening. Despite the $11 beer and the $6 Diet Coke, we were happy to be there.

The Fiserv Forum, the Bucks' three-year-old arena, is a complement to the city skyline and the world's first bird-friendly sports and entertainment facility. Approximately one billion birds die in the United States every year due to glass and building collisions, which accounts for about five percent of the population. Efforts like this building, which is also LEED-certified in an organization-wide effort to reduce the city's carbon footprint, have a positive (or at least neutral) impact on the natural world while still creating man-made beauty and fun for us all.

Inside, we were much more than six feet apart, fully masked, and socially responsible. Shame about the final score though.
