Redhead

We'd intended to go to RSPB Old Moor today, but the day began foggy and it seemed that the weather was worse in the east. Did some jobs at home and when the fog eventually burned off around lunchtime, I went down to the valley to see what was about. Actually, not a great deal, but there was a pair of goosanders on one of the dams. Whilst I see them quite often in the area, this was the first time I've seen them in the valley. They both looked resplendent in the afternoon light, but I decided to go with the female today, as the males usually get the limelight.
