Last day in Discovery Bay

I’m absolutely exhausted and emotionally drained, but I just have to record our last day in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong.

We had grand ideas of going up to the Peak, but we weren’t all in together all day, so that didn’t work out.

First off, getting some things printed at Roberto and Elizabeth’s, where I got this pic. They had a very similar view to ours. Sadly Elizabeth wasn’t there, so were only able to say goodbye to Roberto. Oh my poor heart.

Did manage to get in a meeting to handover Friday Bible study, so feeling pleased that it will keep going, once things open up very soon.

Then a lovely happy hour at Zak’s by the Promenade with the delightful Cecilia. So good to have her all to ourselves and say our goodbyes.

While we were there we got notification from Singapore Airlines that we have been put on a flight to Adelaide!!!!!!!! Queensland government has halved the amount of people coming in for the next two weeks, and sadly this effects us ;(. All because they have an outbreak of “10” or so people @*#$+*% ... (that’s me swearing!!). But good for Singapore Airlines to provide a solution, we’ll still be in Oz, which is great.

And finally finishing off our goodbyes with my dear dear friend Ev and family. It was emotional ... enough said.

There are just no words to describe how much I’m going to miss her and so sorry that I can’t be with her for hospital visits, home visits, looking after Addie, etc! She had prepared a video of so many photos from the time we arrived in 2006 to present day, played to a beautiful “leaving” song ... needless to say, many tissues were needed.

Then a final goodbye with friends Pam and Brent who met us downstairs from Ev’s, they live right next door. More tears ... we have so many deep friendships, this is just so hard.

Back home to finish off packing and get some last minute things done.

We’ve moved so many times before, but this certainly feels quite different!

Will catch up on the last few days ... soon ...
