Goldfinch

I have never got a sharp shot of a goldfinch yet and this is no exception! There are a pair of goldfinches around the garden so I do hope they will be nesting very close by. I heard this one singing loudly and tracked it down to the top of a silver birch tree. It was really difficult to focus on it with all the tiny branches blowing in the wind but eventually I managed to get this shot with the sun on it. Due to the mass of branches I have cropped it vastly.
