Approaching peak mud?

Sunny this afternoon so we decided to help with the garden project.  A decision was made to replace the grass with some new turf laid onto better topsoil than what the builders left ~25 years ago. The existing 'lawn' is being reused along the top of the rail cutting.  The pipe for the drain is in place now and the slabs we walk on to get to the garage have been taken up - they are under the kitchen window so a few surface and foul water drains will have to be worked around when they are re-laid. Some of that might be done tomorrow as it will be in the shade.

Two of our friends called round to pick up some of Gill's spare strawberry plants.  It felt very strange to be ok about inviting them into the garden to see what has been happening in the rail cutting, and then talking about a barbecue once the project is completed.    They have not seen it for ~12 months so what we see as a few days here and there with the big strimmer they see as major progress.

Thanks to everyone for Gill's birthday wishes yesterday :-)
