St Giles

I walked down the Royal Mile tonight on my way back from speaking at a meeting of the National Parent Forum held in St Thomas of Aquin's High School in Chalmers St.

I think, strangely enough, I hadn't actually been in Chalmers St, since I was at University and a friend called Amanda Boal lived in the Student House there - probably around 1974. I discovered tonight that not a single building from that time still stands in the street nor have I any idea what happened to Amanda.

On the High St, however, the great and not so great buildings are unchanged even if their lighting and the street furniture has been updated on more than one occasion.
