A Walk and a Show

This afternoon at low tide G and I did a beach walk from West Runton to Cromer and back. It was a very low tide with lots of the chalk bed showing (the Cromer Shoals Chalk bed is the longest in the world at 20 miles long and the reef is 100 million years old). The car park was very busy with lots of families on a day out, but not many doing the walk. We had a treat as a local aerobatic plane was practicing. I've also included another collage as an extra of the beach and pier. It was a glorious day as the wind had dropped, 23C and the warmest March day in over 50 years - what a day to be back on the beach again after lockdown.

UK deaths up 56 to 126,670 (revised basis), with 4,040 new cases, 4,153 patients in hospital, 583 on ventilation and 289 new admissions. 30.7m have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 3.8m have had their second dose. The Health Secretary warns people 'don't blow it', but as unfortunately is predictable, there have been problems with people gathering in large crowds and not social distancing, particularly when alcohol is involved. The WHO has backtracked and says 'all hypothesis remain on the table' regarding the source of the virus, and that they've had problems accessing raw data and saying the assessment isn't yet extensive enough so a Covid lab leak can't be ruled out. The ONS finds that about half of Britons have Covid antibodies, either from the vaccine or from having Covid. Easter egg sales go up by almost 50% - we're obviously feeling the need for a treat after so long in lockdown!
