Cabbage

I think these gorgeous wild flowers need another name! They're called Skunk Cabbage (Lysichiton americanum) and they do have an unusual scent, but don't (to me) stink like a skunk...they are one of the earliest wildflowers here, and the smell is supposed to attract pollinating insects....from my reading about them, I also see that bears use them as a laxative--not sure I needed to have that vision in my brain! :)
