Rejuvenation II

Lazy day today, apart from a long overdue partial rationalisation of household paperwork.

The footlight installation work at the Minster pictured, recently moved 90 degrees to border the path facing the West window (whose large doors are sometimes used as an entrance); it's since moved another 90 degrees https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2813391853192220154.

Dating from the 17th century the grade II listed Rampton Prebend house, pictured beyond the archway, was recently sold (advertised at £2m). It has a beautiful parterre in the front garden in style of a Tudor knot garden with box hedging and planted tulips.

History
The prebend of the parish of Rampton appears to have been founded around 1200 by Pavia, daughter of Nigel de Rampton, and Robert Malluvel her son. The original church at Rampton was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.

On August 18 1290, the Archbishop of York (under the influence of The Pope) instructed that an Italian, Roland de Ferentino (represented by Master Bartholomew de Ferentino), be appointed to the prebend of Rampton.

Rampton is recorded in the taxation of Pope Nicholas IV in 1291 as a "spirituality of Southwell Minster."
In 1537 Thomas Winter, the natural son of Cardinal Wolsey, as a canon of Southwell and prebendary of Rampton, signed the surrender of Southwell Minster to King Charles I.

Music
Enjoyed much improved fidelity playing a few 12” house singles by “The Black Madonna” following a better clean, revolving in a dip of antistatic cleansing solution. Followed this a couple of indie albums, then streamed a couple of folk albums by instrumental group “Three Cane Whale”. I have tentatively tried to get them to play away from the south west. Perhaps I’ll try a bit harder and try to arrange an interesting venue, which they seem to use.
