The Nook

Chesham Place, Bowdon: designed for himself by the architect Henry Goldsmith (1856-?) and completed in 1884. Receives a mention in Pevsner's "The Buildings of England: Cheshire" as being of "a complex design, somewhat spoilt." Caution: Chesham Place is a short cul de sac, a private road that appears to be permanently monitored by full-time security people. I was approached and politely invited not to take any more photographs!
