Sad shortbread

I made an attempt today to bake shortbread cookies with V., and I'm afraid it has been so long since I had an oven and was the person in charge of cooking that they didn't come out quite right. They needed much more flour, and as a result, are over rich. The last time I made shortbread cookies I had a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and they were perfectly uniform. I couldn't even roll this batch out properly. I gave up and just lumped them on the baking pan.

Of course, we have eaten them all anyway.
