guanwu

back up in the mountains... the name guanwu can be roughly translated as watching mists, which is kind of appropriate up here... a trail leading to the five big trees, 2000 year old red cypresses which managed to survive the cull of the japanese occupation... the trail winds along the side of the hill, valleys opening below, slopes rising from pools of mist as summits recede into distances, leaving little but imagination to give them form...
