Lockdown #3 - day eighty-six...

The oldest tree in the district... This ancient oak tree is growing at The Parkway in Shudy Camps.

The age of this tree was calculated by the South Cambridgeshire Tree and Landscape officer using the Forest Enterprise formula which can estimate the age of trees by considering factors including the tree's shape and form, the condition of the trunk and the amount of dead wood. He makes it 650 years old so it started to grow at about the time of the Black Death in the 14th Century.

I made this photo with my 5 x 4 field camera.
