Cuckmere Haven

Martin and I met Karen and Alan for a camp breakfast and a stroll. We circled the wagons parked next to each other to shelter from the freezing wind while the bacon cooked. Fed and watered, we walked past the Coastguard Cottages to the beach.

We watched a group of students taking off their boots and socks to paddle across the river where it joined the sea to save a lengthy walk to the bridge and back the other side. Needless to say we didn’t join in.

After discussing potential future meeting places we said our goodbyes. Martin and I drove home by the scenic route visiting a few old churches and looking for new dog walks. We decided it was cold enough not to get out of the van to investigate further this time.
