post-industrial cityscape

Day off. Eventually made it out of the house and went on our pilgrimage North to buy some coffee. I really love going down Easter Road. It's busy, cosmopolitan, lively, young, not posh - real in short. I love the sights of past industry. Edinburgh must have been a very different place then. I am glad that the chimneys stopped reeking. I do wonder to what extend life is easier today.

We picked up our messages and bumped into our neighbours in Princes St Garden. We broke the law and had some tinnies in the park. It was lovely to do something normal and impromtu.  Past through the Meadows on the way home. Fairly busy and lots of police.
