Good/Sorrowful Friday

Mom (Rainette) was saying that in Alsatian, 'Good' Friday is known as 'Sorrowful' Friday...
We had an early time of communion with the 24-7 guys which was really good. A day of juggling work things that needed to be done in preparation for next week's prayer week and entertaining the kids. After Danny was finished teaching we went to the beach for a couple of hours. Nate happily played at the waters edge, I read Asha one of her new books - The Thief Lord. She doesn't need it reading to her, but I read it with Julia yeeeeears ago and didn't want to miss out on the fun! Ha!
Danny went into prison this afternoon as yesterday was the first day NGOs were allowed back in after these latest restrictions. He was out late after big conversations and praying with people. Tears, laughter, the whole range it sounds like... Ed's got us on the visitors list, so although I can't go in like Danny does, I can go for 'glass' visits at the weekends.
Had this song on this evening...I just love it.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Good/Sorrowful Friday. Becky prayed this morning that to the disciples this day must have been the end of all hope...and yet Sunday was coming... Who or what is there where all hope feels gone?
2) Reading to Asha, and then later her reading to me.
3) Hearing about a guy we know from the streets, big into dealing and consuming...and now he's in prison and clean and apparently super calm and lovely!!! And saying he wants to turn his life around, wouldn't that be brilliant?! Danny was shocked by how healthy he looked compared to how we're used to seeing him!
