The Cathedral Architecture has inspired me to listen today to Ben Britten's War Requiem. This is a stunning early version conducted by Britten with the Russian Soprano Galina Vishnevskaya, Peter Pears and Dietrich Fischer Dieskau. Britten uses Wilfred Owens poetry throughout.  There's the wonderful twist :  " so Abraham slew his son and half the seed of Europe : one by one.
If you've never heard any of it, give it a wee go.
I'm no Christian but I do find the Easter festival a solemn time. No fluffy bunnies, too much chocolate, or cake for me.

The extra's more Cathedral images using my splendid WA lens.
